Baluchi carpets are handmade carpets originally made by Baluch nomads, living near the border between Iran and Afghanistan. Each piece utilizes the design skills and showcases the individuality of each weaver. Each rug is hand-woven using beautiful vegetable dyed Baluchi wools. These pieces were woven with utility in mind. The workmanship is of high quality; these carpets are tight and thin and give a real feeling of genuine nomadic handicraft.
This particular Directional Baluch Vase Rug is in Excellent Condition, this design is a fun and unusual one of repeated vase and flowers across the field, comprising of eight vases in total. It also has a lovely Ram’s Horn (A symbol of fertility and masculine power, strength and bravery) border around the perimeter.
Rendered in beautifully rich rust, olive, navy, ivory, mustard, ochre and brown. Signed in Arabic in the top center of the field just above the vased flowers.
