Indian Lota Vase

lota or bodna (Bengali: বদনা‬, Urdu: لوٹا‬‎, Hindi: लोटा) is a small (usually spherical) water vessel of brass, copper or plastic used in parts of South Asia for personal hygiene and, among Muslims, for wudu.

Gorgeous antique Indian wooden  lota vase with brass overlay. This Antique lota would make a wonderful Indian decoration and a great gift for the home. This beautiful piece has brass pattern overlayed and secured by brass pins (3 are missing) around the widest part of the vessel as well as around the rim on the top of the vase.

There is a fine crack in the wood on the top of the rim (see pics) which doesn’t appear to have gone all the way through and still feels very firm and secure.
